• CityJet has cancelled its London City–Eindhoven service, operated as a twice-weekday service until the end of March.

• EasyJet is launching a daily Gatwick–Bergen service on 20th May.

• FlyBe is introducing two new seasonal ski services in December 2013, from Inverness to Geneva and from Southampton to Grenoble. Both will be operated weekly.

• Jet2.com is introducing two new twice-weekly services from East Midlands in early November – to Prague and Budapest.

• Kenya Airways is launching a thrice weekly service between Nairobi and Abu Dhabi on 1st July.

• AerLingus is cancelling Dublin–Bucharest service at the end of April.

• Croatia Airlines is cancelling its services to Istanbul and London Gatwick from 31st March.

• Easyjet launches twice-weekly services from Luton to Olbia and Mykonos this spring, and is introducing a fourth daily service between Gatwick and Copenhagen on 19th May.

• Emirates is introducing a second daily Airbus A380 service between Dubai and Sydney on 1st June.

• Flybe is increasing the frequency of its weekday services from East Midlands to Edinburgh and Glasgow from three to four flights a day from 1st April, and is also adding Saturday services from Manchester to both Edinburgh and Glasgow at the same time.

• Monarch Airlines is cancelling its Birmingham–Munich service on 23rd April.

• Tarom is expanding its operations at Iasi from 26th April, with the launch of services to Bologna, Heathrow and Turin.

• Virgin Atlantic starts promoting its new domestic UK service, dubbed “Little Red” today. Services from Heathrow to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester will be rolled out from the end of March using Virgin-liveried AerLingus aircraft.

• Here are some of the key route developments of the last month:

• BMI Regional launches services from Bristol to Hamburg and Frankfurt this spring.

• British Airways will launch a thrice-weekly Heathrow–Chengdu service on 22nd September.

• CSA Czech Airlines resumes long-haul operations on 1st June with a twice-weekly Prague–Seoul service.

• Easyjet has announced details of its Manchester–Moscow Domodedovo service, which will be operated four-times weekly from 28th March. The carrier is also launching services from Liverpool and Southend to Newquay this summer.

• Egyptair launches a five-times weekly Cairo–Manchester service on 1st June.

• Flybe (Loganair) is introducing a weekday Manchester–Norwich–Den Helder service on 4th March.

• Iberia is cancelling services to ten destinations in the coming months – Havana, Montevideo, San Juan, Santo Domingo, Athens, Istanbul and Cairo, Amsterdam, Berlin and Stockholm.

• Monarch is launching thrice-weekly services from Birmingham to Bordeaux and Split this summer.

• Qatar Airways launches a thrice-weekly Doha–Chengdu service on 19th March.

• Ryanair has announced the major expansion of services from Edinburgh and Prestwick in 2013. New destinations include Beziers, Bologna, Corfu and Warsaw.

• Wizzair is cancelling services from Cork to Vilnius, Warsaw and Wroclaw.

• Aeroflot will be introducing Airbus A330 equipment on its Moscow–Heathrow service from 31st March, five times weekly.

• CityJet (for Air France) is launching two new destinations from London City next April. Dresden and Paderborn will both receive six-times weekly services.

• Korean Air is suspending its three-times weekly Seoul–Gatwick service from mid January to 27th April.

• Qatar Airways is introducing the Boeing 787 to its Doha-Heathrow service on a daily basis from 13th December.

• Ryanair is cancelling its Gatwick–Madrid service next summer.

•  SATA is launching weekly seasonal services from Ponta Delgada to Paris and Las Palmas next summer.

• Air Arabia Maroc starts flying to Gatwick from Casablanca (thrice weekly) and  Tangier (twice weekly) from the end of October.

• British Airways is launching a Gatwick–Alicante service on 31st March, initially with 17 weekly flights, increasing to thrice-daily in July.

• EasyJet has already launched its four-times weekly Bristol–Copenhagen service – this route was originally to be launched at the end of October.

• Jet Airways is cancelling its daily Chennai–Brussels service on 15th November.

• LOT Polish Airlines will operate seven of its Warsaw–Heathrow services between 21st December and 2nd January with Boeing 787 aircraft.

• Monarch Airlines is cancelling services from Birmingham, Gatwick and  Manchester to Milan Malpensa at the beginning of November.

• Swiss is reducing its Zurich–Birmingham operation from three to two flights daily –  the mid-day service from Zurich is being cancelled.
 

• Turkish Airlines is expanding  its operation to East Africa with the launch of a five-times weekly service from Istanbul to Kilimanjaro and Mombasa on 4th December.

• Alitalia is launching a four-times weekly Rome–Abu Dhabi service on 1st December.

• American Airlines is cancelling its New York JFK–Brussels service on 6th November.

• Blue Islands Airways  introduces a weekly winter ski route between Jersey and Chambery on 15th December, operated until 13th April.

• Icelandair launches twice-weekly services next summer from Reykjavik to Anchorage, St Petersburg and Zurich. The service to Alaska will offer full connectivity with its northern European destinations.

American Airlines is resuming service to Paraguay after six years’ suspension on 15th November with a four times-weekly Miami–Asuncion service.

British Airways cancelled Bmi’s service to Addis Ababa on 12th June as part of network restructuring following the acquisition of Bmi. In connection with this the airline also added new flights to Brussels, Toulouse and Zurich at the end of June. With the introduction of the winter timetable on 28th October, BA will be doubling frequency to twice daily to both Bergen and Stavanger and adding services from Heathrow to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Lyon and Oslo. BA will also be launching new services to Leeds/Bradford and Zagreb from Heathrow on 9th December, and to Barcelona from Gatwick on 23rd February 2013.
 
Delta is cancelling its five-times weekly Detroit–Hong Kong service on 30th August.
 
Malaysia Airlines begins a thrice-weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Kathmandu on 1st September.
 
Ryanair  is expanding operations at Warsaw’s Modlin Airport, and will be launching new routes this autumn to Barcelona, Bologna, Bristol, Dusseldorf Weeze, East Midlands, Hahn, Liverpool, Manchester, Paris Beauvais and Prestwick
 
Transaero is launching a daily service to Paris Orly on 27th July, operating twice weekly from Moscow Domodedovo, and five times weekly from Vnukovo.
 
United Airlines is cancelling its Houston–Paris CDG service – the last flight will be on 9th October.

Here are some items that missed our editorial deadline:

Anadolujet has cancelled its Ankara–Stansted service – it had returned to the route with a twice weekly service starting at the beginning of April.

British Airways launches a thrice-weekday London City–Aberdeen service on 24th September.

Etihad is introducing 3-class Boeing 777 aircraft this summer to serve on its Abu Dhabi–Heathrow route. 

LACSA  launches a four-times weekly service to Brasilia on 1st June, as an extension of its San Jose–Bogota route.

OLT Express Poland will introduce daily services to Gatwick from Warsaw and Gdansk this autumn. A weekly Lodz–Edinburgh service is also planned.

Precision Air  launches a thrice-weekly triangle service from Dar es Salaam to Lubumbashi and Lusaka in mid May, and a similar frequency to Lilongwe and Harare in July.

TAP Portugal is cancelling Lisbon–Sao Paulo Viracopos at the end of October. The thrice-weekly service was launched in July 2010.

Alitalia launches a twice weekly Rome-Benghazi service on 3rd June.

China Southern is launching a thrice-weekly  Guangzhou-Heathrow service on 6th June.

Delta is cancelling its JFK-Manchester summer service this year. It is also cancelling its Atlanta-Gatwick and Miami-Heathrow services in April, though an additional daily Atlanta-Heathrow service will be introduced on 18th April to maintain its London frequency. The airline’s Memphis-Amsterdam service will be cancelled on 4th September.

Emirates is introducing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on its Dubai-Newcastle service in September.

Etihad Airways has just launched a service from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai, that will be flown daily from 15th April.

Olympic Air is cancelling its Athens-Amsterdam service on 25th March, marking the end of the airline’s operations in Western Europe.

Ryanair has announced that it’ll be adding 26 “new” routes from London this summer, comprising five from Luton and 21 from Stansted. From Luton: Alghero, Girona, Murcia, Reus and Trapani; and from Stansted: Almeria, Berlin, Budapest, Chania, Girona, Ibiza, Jerez de la Frontera, Kos, Malta, Paphos, Patras/Araxos, Perpignan, Pula, Reus, Rhodes, Rijeka, Toulon, Turku, Warsaw and Zadar. Several of these services have been flown in the past.

Wizzair starts a thrice-weekly Debrecen-Luton service on 18th June.

Turkish Airlines launches a twice-weekly Istanbul-Kharkov service on 13th March, Kharkov is the airline’s seventh Ukrainian destination.
